Not content with being unnoticed by the masses, Duosseudo (due-oh-sue-doh) was born to create its own unique direction of sound and vision.
A deadly career move perhaps for both Luc Wiesman and Marc Edwards in a world of ‘me too’ musical acts, however both had enough merit and talent to make something special with their blank canvas.
Gotye was so impressed with their remix of ‘Hearts a Mess’ that he snapped it up quicker than a crocodile in Kakadu for his Mixed Blood compilation. That album went on to win Gotye an ARIA award for best male artist in 2008. Duosseudo’s electric touch was felt as fas as France with Yelle, followed by Los Angeles with Bird and the Bee and finally touching back home with Gabriella Cilmi. Luc Wiesman and Marc Edwards had been friends for many years prior to their creation of Duosseudo, both earning respect as producers and DJs in their own right.
Duosseudo’s sound cuts like a diamond’s edge through the soft-synth world of electro, reshaping it into a figure that is part 80s pop and part Chicago house.
A sleeping giant in the waiting.
We Are One is the product of a 3 year collaboration between Marc Edwards and Luc Wiesman. The album has been as much about self discovery for the group as it has been about creating something that's fresh and interesting.
The first single from the album came to life after a remix was rejected by Sydney band Expatriate. With a hole to fill and 2 weeks to do it, Luc & Marc wrote Just A Boy with the help of Lydia Grant. A blessing in disguise perhaps.
The album also features the hit remix of Gotye's Hearts A Mess. Yes, after many requests they succumbed and included the extended version for DJs.
Twelve tracks that range from 80s inspired electro pop of Cassette to triplet timed Freak Out, We Are One is a masterfully blended juxtaposition of driving grooves and edgy hooks that pays homage to the days you use to get up early on a Saturday morning and watch the Transformers in your PJs.
We Are One is out now, in all good record stores as well as iTunes.
